Team Fox Hosts First NYC FoxTrot 5K
Each year, hundreds of Team Fox members around the country lace up their kicks at races and walks in their communities to help raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's research. Some of our members have even taken on the role of race director to host 5Ks of their own. And this year, Team Fox decided to jump on the bandwagon here in NYC.
On Thursday, August 13, Team Fox welcomed nearly 300 runners, including 15 Foundation staff members, for its inaugural NYC FoxTrot 5K in Riverside Park. The weather was perfect and the Team Fox gear (and foxy ears to match) was plentiful along the 3.1 mile course. Following the race, participants and spectators alike gathered around the corner at a local bar for celebratory drinks and mingling.
To date, the race has raised more than $12,700 — and counting — and thanks to the support of an anonymous donor, 100 percent of Team Fox proceeds this year go directly towards research efforts to speed a cure for Parkinson's.
