[Correspondence] and Parkinson’s disease
Genetic discoveries have lent support to the growing consensus that protein aggregation, impairment in oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction are important pathways in Parkinson's disease.1 In agreement with this hypothesis, Funayama and colleagues2 report an association of CHCHD2, which is suggested to be involved in mitochondrial respiration, with Parkinson's disease in the Japanese population.2
