[Comment] Unfreezing of gait in patients with Parkinson’s disease

Freezing of gait is an episodic disorder of human locomotion, characterised by sudden and brief episodes of inability to produce effective forward stepping.1 The most common cause of freezing of gait is Parkinson's disease, and prevalence ranges from about 10% in Hoehn and Yahr stage 1 to more than 90% in stage 4.2 Freezing of gait is a frequent cause of falls and a major determinant of quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease, far beyond some better recognised and more stigmatising symptoms.
